Shah Rukh Khan had wanted Akon and Lady Gaga to sing together for his superhero fantasy adventure, RA.One, that releases tomorrow. Since time was short, he lost out on Lady Gaga but during her visit to India this weekend, the superstar will get a chance to interview her face-to-face on a variety of subjects, including Bollywood.
Given his charm, Shah Rukh may even coax her to sing a few lines and could demonstrate a few dance moves for her to replicate. The exclusive tête-à-tête will be filmed at his RA.One co-star, Arjun Rampal’s Delhi nightclub Lap on October 30. It will be aired on UTV Stars and UTV Bindass all of November.
Keith Alphonso, business head, UTV Bindass, says, “For the longest time we have felt that Lady Gaga personified the spirit of our channel and her trip to India to perform live on the Buddh circuit during the F1 grand finale, gave us an opportunity to fix a one-on-one interaction between the global popstar, and Shah Rukh Khan who is our own global rockstar. Her concert is only for a limited audience but for this encounter, which is an initiative of UTV Bindass, we have got her nod for having 25-40 of her young fans on board. This is the only time in India when she will be interacting with a real audience.”
After the show is shot, the team will return to Mumbai with the footage and get into post-production straightaway. Keith is hoping to air the exclusive between November 8 and 10: “We will also telecast the concert in a separate episode, along with the after parties at Lap and bytes from the celeb guests. It’ll be a Gaga November to remember.”
