'Rock the Shaadi is not DDLJ'

By Hindustan Times

NEW DELHI, Oct. 17 -- If the films he's done so far are any indication, it won't be an exaggeration to say that actor Abhay Deol (right), 35, has mostly taken the road less travelled. With films like Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Manorama Six Feet Under and Dev D in his resume, the actor is every thinking womans' dream man. Currently, Abhay is looking forward to celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali with family and friends.

"I don't burn crackers as I am an environmentalist. I think our earth is already so polluted, so why pollute it further, especially in the name of God," he rues. Abhay, who was in the Capital recently to launch HCL's ME XI Tablet, talks about his upcoming films, love, marriage and more in a freewheeling interview. Abhay's point of view On new projects I am doing Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai which is currently in the post production.

Then, there is Rock the Shaadi by director Navdeep Singh. On singing career After my singing stint in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, I don't mind singing again. I love music and in Rock the Shaadi, there is a song that I really like. So, maybe On his girlfriend Preeti (Desai) wants to make her mark in the industry on her own and I encourage her for the same.

The best thing about her is that she is not camera conscious. On Rock... rumours Firstly, I have not given the name Rock the Shaadi as has been reported in the media and secondly, it is not a remake of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. On his journey so far It's just a start. It has been an uphill road and what people have seen so far is just a tip of the iceberg. There is lot of Abhay that people haven't seen yet. On wedding plans There are a lot of marriages happening around town right now. But there are no wedding bells as yet for me.
