Mumbai, Sept. 10 -- This Diwali, Himesh Reshammiya will compete against Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One with his romantic musical, Damadamm. And since the odds, at least for the time being, strongly favour SRK and his big-budget highaction thriller, Himesh has already taken out his lucky trump card. It has come to light that the singer-composer will now sport his signature cap in a song in his forthcoming film.
Himesh appeared in the same avatar at the film's music release this week. Says Himesh, in a telephonic interview, minutes before a concert in Lagos, "My cap has always been very lucky for me, especially after Aap Kaa Surroor (2007). In Damadamm, I will be wearing the cap in the song, 'Madhushaala...'
Himesh has also scored music for Salman Khan's Bodyguard. He adds, "After the recent success of Bodyguard's soundtrack, I've received positive feedback for my song 'Umrao jaan..' from Damadamm."
Interestingly, from now on audiences will see Himesh wearing a cap in all his forthcoming films. "I've now decided to wear the cap in all my future movies. It may not be for the whole movie, but I will make sure that I wear it in at least one song in all my future films," he says. Apparently, the singeractor has a collection of over 1,000 caps from all over the world. Says Himesh, "I love all kinds of caps and hats, but my favourite is the baseball cap. It has worked for me in the past and I hope it has the same impact in the future. The cap that I wear on a particular day depends purely on my dress code."
