Mumbai, April 25 -- Before making his film debut as an actor, director-producer Vikram Bhatt will make his small screen debut this week in the TV show, Anhoniyon Ka Andhera on Colors, where he will be seen playing himself.
"This is an eerie show. My 3D horror Haunted is up for release. So I decided to integrate the two since they gel well. It's a brilliant idea that will soon catch on with others too," he says.
In the capsule that runs this weekend, Vikram and the cast of Haunted will be seen shooting the movie at a scary-looking location. A crew member from the lighting department will fall from the rostrum and get bruised. The otherwise snail-paced shoot will come to a screeching halt. The production manager will discover that the place is haunted. Anahita (Anita Hassanandani) who plays an exorcist of sorts will be summoned for help.
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai was known to make random appearances in every film he directed. As far as merging movies and TV shows is concerned, recently, filmmaker and soap queen Ekta Kapoor too merged her popular daily soap Pavitra Rishta with the promotions of Shor In The City. What was Vikram's inspiration? "Not Subhash Ghai for sure," he chuckles. "There are a lot of shows and movies in the same genre. So, I'm sure it will become a trend since TV shows have tremendous reach."
