Known for films such as Salaam Bombay, Monsoon Wedding and the more recent Namesake, filmmaker Mira Nair is about to be applauded. She will be bestowed the ‘Pride of India’ award at a Bollywood awards show to be held in New York in May. Mira is of the opinion that the Bollywood pie is so big and that there’s a piece for everyone. She says it’s because of her Indian roots that she can fly so high and takes pride in coming from a land whose heart is as big as the ocean. Nair is quite a brilliant bharatiya nari.
