McCartney sets Guinness record with smashing ticket sellout

London, March 11 (IANS) The Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney has set a new world record after selling out all 4,000 seats for his upcoming gig at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in seven seconds.

Tickets for the former Beatle's April 19 concert at the resort's The New Joint venue went on sale Feb 14 and newly-released statistics suggest the concert was the hottest ticket around, selling at a rate of nearly 600 seats a second, reports contactmusic.com.

The gig promoters at Concerts West/AEG Live hope the Valentine's Day sale encouraged couples to make plans to attend the show, and they want to initiate the planet's biggest "love-in" at the event.
