Over the weekend gone by, Vashu Bhagnani announced his grand comeback with Kal Kissne Dekha , a film with which he would be launching his son Jackie Bhagnani. The girl paired opposite Jackie is Vaishali Desai while the film is being directed by Vivek Sharma (of Bhoothnath fame). For the first time ever, the young couple was introduced to the media in a simple yet impressive event that took place in Pattaya, Bangkok.
While most part of the day went into shooting a romantic number featuring Jackie and Vaishali amidst a bevy of beauties on the exotic beach of Pattaya, the evening was reserved for a tete-a-tete with media. The event started with the unveiling of the audio-video clippings of all the songs composed by Sajid-Wajid. An interesting affair, it was followed by media interaction but before that Rishi Kapoor was invited to do the honors for an official introduction of the lead pair Jackie and Vaishali.
Said Rishi Kapoor, who plays a pivotal role in the film, "For me, from the very first day till the last day of the shoot, it was an enthralling experience. Hanste khelte kab film kahatam ho gayi, pata hi nahi chala. I want to give my blessings to these children who have worked so hard on this film. Believe me, they are the most focused youngsters I have ever worked with in my long career. It's not a joke and I really mean it."
Vashu Bhagnani was very much a proud daddy when he announced that Jackie came into the film only after he himself was fully convinced that he could face the camera and deliver. "I could have launched him even earlier but he said that he wanted to start off only after he was confident of his abilities. When your own son says something like that, it only makes you super sure about his confidence."
Jackie, the man of the moment, didn't deny though that he was nervous while shooting for the film. No, it wasn't that he feared whether he would be able to do the job. Instead, it was the Rishi Kapoor factor that made him a little anxious. "I was very scared to work with Rishi Kapoor. Cliched as it may sound but the moment I started interacting with him, my fears started evaporating. He is simply great and really helped me a lot in performing my scenes."
Vaishali, who has been a model herself, says that she hadn't planned to be an actor. "I was passionate about Bollywood cinema and somewhere at the back of my mind, I could sense that sooner or later the acting bug would bit me as well. Still, I got started with modeling, advertisements etc. before taking a plunge into acting. I guess destiny got me in, though I still can't forget the first day on the film's shoot when I completely went blank."
There was a time when Vashu Bhagnani was known as the man with the Midas touch. Anything he touched (read at least half a dozen films) turned into gold and it seemed that he couldn't make any false movies. Agrees Vivek Sharma, "Vashu is still the Producer no.1. He gives a huge mounting to the film; something which is any director's dream. I wanted to make a new script after Bhoothnath and can confidently state that Kal Kissne Dekha is truly original. Of course there is an added responsibility of launching Jackie and Vaishali as well. I am nervous. It's like what you feel during the
