Mumbai, July 31 -- Kareena Kapoor is peeved about rumours that she turned down an item song in the Agneepath remake, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. It is reportedly a Helen-like number, performed in the villain, Kancha Cheena's (played by Sanjay Dutt) den. Kareena has earlier gyrated to another Helen chartbuster, 'Yeh mera dil...' in Shah Rukh Khan's Don-The Chase Begins (2006). But this time, she apparently opted out citing date problems, even though Priyanka recently shot for an item song in RA.One that stars her in the lead.
"No, I wasn't approached," insists Kareena. "Karan (Agneepath producer Karan Johar) and I are good friends, he's almost family. There's no place for me in the film. Karan would have told me if it were so."
The Bollywood star who's been shuttling between five big films this year, including Salman Khan's Bodyguard, Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One, Saif Ali Khan's Agent Vinod, Aamir Khan's Act Of Murder and Imran Khan's Short Term Shaadi, points out that she's too busy to take on any new commitments now. "I just don't have the time, so I've told my friends not to ask me for anything because I don't like saying no to them," she sighs. "And I'm not keen on doing an item number for anyone."
However, Kareena is really excited about her songs in SRK's fantasy adventure, RA.One : "Shah Rukh's made a movie you've never seen on the Indian screen before, I'm so proud to be a part of it. This Diwali, I will be dancing to Akon's tunes, 'Chamak challo...' and 'Shake my booty...'. It's the most exciting time of my of my life."
