Mumbai, June 18 -- Nawazuddin Siddiqui knows what it's like to struggle before making it big in Bollywood. Now that the actor has tasted success, he wants to promote other people's good work and talent.
The actor is keen to launch his own brother, Shamaas Nawab Siddiqui, who is writing a film script and wants to direct it.
Nawaz believes that Shamaas's script has the elements needed for a successful venture. "For the past one year, I did not read his script, but when I did, I was moved. I really liked it and will help him in whatever way I can," says Nawaz. The actor, who has worked with several recognised directors and production houses in the last few years, has cordial relationships with them and hopes that they will help Shamaas out.
"I will be approaching producers for his film. Currently, I don't know which production house might be the appropriate one to support it," he says.
When probed if he would approach Anurag Kashyap, Nawaz simply says, "Anurag is like family and would support (my brother)." Though the actor is gung-ho about the script, he is not sure if he would be right for the film.
"It is Shamaas' film. His story revolves around crime in north India. He is a thorough professional and will cast actors who he believes will do justice to the roles. I am sure he will take the right decisions. I won't be interfering in his creative calls," says Nawaz.
