Though she has been part of Indian cinema for ten years, Bengali Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's daughter, Nandana Sen has never done a Bengali film before.
She's ready to remedy that lacuna. It's a film called Kaler Rakhal directed by National award winner Shekhar Das. It's to be shot in Shantiniketan.
"I play this Indian student from Germany making a film. It's my first Bengali film. And I'm very excited because I think, dream, fight and sing in Bengali."
Coincidentally, two other Mumbai-based actresses Bipasha Basu and Riya Sen too have just done their first Bengali films, both with director Rituparno Ghosh.
Another role that has Nandana all revved up is the one in Zindabad. "It's a political satire where I play a bright-eyed reporter who changes during the course of a day from a dreamer to a realist."
