New Delhi, Jan 24 (IANS) The finale of the popular music reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa", part of Maharashtra government's cultural festival "Mumbai Saptarang", will be held at the Gateway of India here and is the first public event in the city after the 26/11 terror attack.
The finale of the show that will be aired live on Zee TV Saturday 8 p.m. onwards, will be held at the historic monument which stands in front of the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel where the 60-hour siege took place.
“Holding the finale at the Gateway of India is our way of telling the world that the spirit of India is unshakable. Music has traversed many boundaries and this time around we want to show everyone that we stand tall in face of all adversities,” said Punit Goenka, CEO, ZEE.
There will be performances by the three finalists - Vaishali Mhade, Somen Nandi and Yashita Yashpal. Music composers and mentors Himesh Reshammiya, Aadesh Srivastava and Pritam Chakraborty along with Shankar Mahadevan will be present on the occasion.
Besides these, the audience will comprise those who want to pledge their support for the unity of the nation. Politicians and film celebrities are also expected to mark their presence.
The “Mumbai Saptarang” is a seven-day festival that began Friday.
