The Xpose is a Bollywood musical about “sensational dark secrets of an era”. Starring Himesh Reshammiya, who plays a detective in the film (adding some freshness to his acting carrier), and Yo Yo Honey Singh playing a negative role. The two ladies in the film are Zoya Afroz and Sonali Rau. This movie is probably a product of when two “singers” become “actors. The film is expected to release on 16th May, 2014.
Dard Dilo Ke
Sung by Mohammed Irfan, this is a surprisingly good song, though it gets repetitive and ultra-depressing after a few minutes. The video has some interesting elements, like Himesh Reshammiya’s lips, his bright red coat, different angles of his face displaying his new look and the intensity in his eyes hidden by his shades (mind you, the video is shot in a winter-cold, grey and dull weather).
The remix (by Kiran Kamath) has Neeti Mohan spelling out XPOSE for us. It’s got some regular beats, with the same depressing feel.
This song does not just show you a new version of Himesh Reshammiya, but Yo Yo Honey Singh as well! This song has a 60s theme, starting off with Himesh Reshammiya throwing a few names of girls, only to discover that the girl he’s singing to is called Prrrrriyaaaaa (in nasal). With lots of Ha Ha’s, an overdose of colour and confetti, continuous bobbling heads and Himesh showing off his wine glass every 30 seconds, this song is one hilarious (almost annoying) party.
The remix version (again, by Kiran Kamath) is a more intense retro version, but definitely better! It’s got a nice beat.
Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara
I never thought I would say this, but this song is actually cute. Besides Himesh Reshammiya’s voice, the music and lyrics, as well as Yo Yo Honey Singh’s voice creates a rather feel-good mood (unbelievable but true). The video is cute as well.
Sheeshe ka Samundar
This song is a disaster! Penned down badly, sung horribly, and composed weakly.
If there is Himesh Reshammiya, there’s got to be Surroor! But it’s not the same Surroor. It’s a different one. It’s another song of him waking around streets with his hands in the pocket of his coat and shades on like there’s actually no need of a coat. He has attempted some English pop, which you must hear. The female playback singer is Shalmali Kholgade and slightly better than Himesh.
Catch Me If You Can
This song gives a feel of an action-packed thriller, but in a funny way. The video is even funnier. I like the song though, sort of.
The Xpose (Mash up)
This title track/mash up by Kiran Kamath is an overdose of Reshammiya’s voice.
A complete Himesh Reshammiya album, as usual. And he has overshadowed Yo Yo Honey Singh as well!
