Mumbai, Nov. 7 -- Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Lisa Haydon, who have been travelling around India to promote their film, The Shaukeens, now intend to visit cinema halls to meet audiences and get their reactions.
The film, which releases today (November 7) also has a cameo by Akshay Kumar. The actor watched it a few days ago with his entire family, including mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia, who also makes an appearance in the film.
Director Abhishek Sharma is relieved that at all the screenings of the film so far, women have enjoyed it just as much as men. "It proves that being naughty is a universal trait; it's always fun - be it for men, women or both."
The producers of the film, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, believe that today's youth is ready for a naughty comedy. "The main characters of this film are naughty men; they are 'Shaukeens'," says Khetani. Varde adds, "All of us have been 'shaukeen' at some stage in life. This film celebrates that 'shaukeen' in us." The Shaukeens, produced by Murad Khetani, Cape Of Good Films and Ashwin Varde, releases on November 7.
