Shamitabh Music Review

By Tulsi, Bollywood.com News Network

The much-awaited Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan film. While Akshara Haasan (Kamal Haasan’s second daughter) debuts in Bollywood, Amitabh and Dhanush are a rocking pair and highly promoted in the film’s trailers and posters. The film is directed by R. Balki and the album and background score is by Ilaiyaraaja! No wonder the album is just crazy!  Have a look.

1. Ishq E Phillum
The composition is super fancy… Pretty cool! The song is filmy, or rather, philmy! The song is really weird, and sort of dramatic. And it gets really repetitive! The song is sung by Suraj Jagan.

2. Sha Sha Mi Mi
You could call this the title track, I guess. Sung by Caralisa Monteiro. It’s about stardom. You don’t quite enjoy the song, but it adds to the whole out of the box film theme and does a great job at building some curiosity.

3. Piddly
This one’s quite a popular song, sung by Amitabh ji himself. He is way, way, way too cool. And you’ll definitely enjoy this song, even if you don’t understand it.

4. Sannata
Sung by Shruti Haasan, this song is super edgy and cool! The music is awesome, and Shruti’s voice rocks the song. It’s anything but what the song’s title suggests. It’s loud, bold, and upbeat. The lyrics are pretty crap, but it doesn’t matter.

5.Thappad
By Suraj Jagan and Earl D’souza. The track has a great rhythm that kind of gets you moving. The lyrics are kind of fun as well.

6. Lifebuoy
Another Suraj Jagan sung song. Great music, random lyrics, pretty much a Shamitabh song. Maybe more shocking than the other songs! And that’s Suraj Jagan at his best!

All the songs have a similar feel… The same feel that the movie has. So that’s makes it a great, thoughtful, album with a lot of effort put in it.

The songs are not just not added for the heck of it, but compliment the film very well. The composition of the album is super rocking, and the album definitely has something different to offer. The album is absolutely hatke, and we assure that you’ll have never heard something like this ever!
