A detective film by Rajshri Productions, starring Aamir-star Rajeev Khandelwal, as Samrat himself. He is a detective who has bee approached by a young, rich girl to solve a mysterious and interesting case. The film was released on April 25th, 2014, and unfortunately didn’t manage to be interesting enough to pull any crowd to the theatres. The music album, similarly, got lost along the way.
Samrat & Co.
The title song by Benny Dayal is a detective song. It intends to build curiosity and fails miserably. The track is filled with random people talking about random things, and nothing is understood. The tune isn’t catchy either.
One of the most boring romantic songs I have heard. The song is sung by Chinmayi Sripaada and Arijit Singh, but I couldn’t even bear to reach till Arijit’s part of the song!
I’ve heard this song a couple of times, and I still don’t know what this song is about. Is it a detective item song? A detective party song? A detective song? Even Shreya Ghoshal’s voice can’t save the song.
This track here, be careful of it! It’s another version of Shukr Tera, and is even more boring than the original one! Here, Gajendra Verma sings with Chinmayi Sripaada.
Another random, confusing song that I just don’t understand. It’s a melodramatic detective song about the mysteries of the movie characters’ lives. Again, sung by Shreya Ghoshal.
Detective music. Yes.
The music album has clearly gone overboard with the attempt of creating a mystery element and a detective touch to each and every song. So much that every track is tasteless, spiceless, and just the opposite of what the album is supposed to do: Create interest.
