Mumbai, Feb. 13 -- This Valentine's Day (February 14) is special for producer Bhushan Kumar. His film, Roy, which is a romantic-thriller, is releasing on February 13, which also happens to be his wedding anniversary.
"Roy is a special film and it is releasing on a special day. It's not a typical run-of-the-mill kind of movie, and Vicky (Vikramjit Singh; director), as a debutant, has done a commendable job," says Kumar about the Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer.
Roy, which has already created a lot of buzz, is a passionate love story that is an edge-of-the-seat thriller as well. It isn't a typical romantic film.
Speaking about the movie, Arjun says, "Vicky came to me with the script and I knew it will be a content-driven commercial film. There are good songs, a strong storyline, drama and thrills, which make the movie a definite watch."
While Arjun plays a film director in Roy, Ranbir will be seen in the role of a thief. "My role in the film is very different from the kinf of characters I have played so far. The process of essaying this role was new to me. It's great of Bhushanji to make a film that has a combination of romance, action and thrill - not yet seen in Indian cinema," says Ranbir.
As for the soundtrack of the film, Kumar says, "The music is doing great and has helped the film become one of the most awaited movies this year."
A T-Series film, Roy is co-produced by Divya Khosla Kumar and Krishan Kumar, and is directed by Vikramjit Singh. It releases today.
