Queen - Not just a music album, but a story

By Tulsi, Bollywood.com News Network

Starring the sexy Kangana Ranaut as Rani, Queen is a movie about a Delhi girl who comes from a conservative family, and is ditched by her fiancé who leaves her just before the wedding.  She decides to go on her honeymoon by herself, where she travels the world and finds her true self through different experiences and new people. The movie releases on March 7th 2014, and is directed by Vikas Bahl. The music album is as unique as the story of the movie and the lead actress. It keeps you captivated till the end. Every single song.

London Thumakda

A shaadi song! It’s perky, peppy and Punjabi! The song is by Labh Janjua, Sonu Kakkar and Neha Kakkar. The lyrics are quirky and hilarious, so don’t forget to pay attention to them before getting carried away with the hatke beats!

Badra Bahaar

With traditional lyrics, modern music and the unusual voice of Amit Trivedi, this song is stimulating! It’s all that the movie is about – Rani, the lead character, and her life, her experiences, her fear to face an entirely new world al by herself. The guitar piece is the cherry on top.

O Gujariya

Sung by Shefali Alvares, this song has crazy beats that make you want to kick off your shoes. Really shows you how to party!

Taake Jhanke

A love song by Arijit Singh, this song is young, charming and makes you fall in love with life. The chorus is lively the tune is hummable, and the lyrics are new.

One more song by Amit Trivedi, and this one is as interesting as the previous one. Upbeat and inspiring, the song makes you feel free. It tells you a story. It shares victory. It teaches you to get up when you fall, and fly. Absolutely refreshing!

This song is about separation, anger and hurt. The beats are lovely, and the composition of the music has an interesting combination of unusual instruments put together in an unusual manner. Nandini Srikar’s beautiful voice gives more depth to the song.

Sung so wonderfully by Mohan Kanan, this is another inspiring and self-motivating song. Unlike usual heartbreak songs, this track is rather positive, happy and leaves you stronger! It’s a number that everyone can relate to, and perect for the times you need that extra push to keep yourself going or feel better. It goes best with chocolate ice cream and a big smile.

A slow Punjabi song by Rupesh Kumar Ram, portraying the feelings of the lead character, Rani. The number has minimum music, and the focus is completely on the lyrics. It’s almost as if it’s a conclusion song, summing up the complete character of Rani, and her life. Enchanting!

The music album starts with a crazy Punjabi wedding track and ends with a soul-touching Punjabi number. Every song of this album brings meaning to the movie, enhancing the story, adding depth to the lead character. Absolutely lovely would be an understatement.
