This film needs no introduction. It’s a biography of the famous captain of the Indian cricket team – perhaps the most successful one – M.S. Dhoni.
The handsome Sushant Singh Rajput plays the role of the cricketer, and from the trailers we are in all praise of the precision with which he has acted as Dhoni. He even looks like him! The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey, and is releasing on 30th September.
A very inspiring feel-good song in the voice of Armaan Malik. The first track itself gives you a good experience of what the film is going to be like. It teaches you to dream and make it come true. However, it’s not captivating enough, I feel. It surely needs the support of the video to make it truly wonderfully. In short, it’s a good sum up of Dhoni’s dreams but not legendary.
2. Kaun Tujhe
The second song is a love track between Dhoni and his then girlfriend, and their young love. Sung by Palak Muchhal, this song is…boring. The music, the lyrics, the video – everything!
3. Jab Tak
Another love track, in the voice of Armaan Malik. Thankfully, this one is much better. It’s fresh, and sweet. Yet again, it’s ordinary, and quite forgettable too (and so is the video). The Redux version is much better!
4. Phir Kabhi
Arijit Singh sings the third love song of the album, and it’s the best one. It’s melodious and beautiful, and can be played on loop, if you are an Arijit fan. Here, M.S. is already famous, and walks around in a (bike) helmet. Kind of cute.
5. Parwah Nahi
A super motivational track, full of persistence and some rock-solid rock. Well sung by Siddharth Basrur, this song is more power-packed than the first track – more like Dhoni. Love it!
6. Padhoge Likhoge
A fun track in the voice of Ananya Nanda wraps up the album. Though it’s all in light humour, the song has an important message, quite apt for the movie, and every child growing up in this country!
My verdict: The album is very average for a powerful personality like M.S. Dhoni!
