Mom director was inspired by people he observed daily..

Mumbai, June 30 -- While working on the script and characters for his next film Mom, director Ravi Udyawar says that he was inspired by people he observed in his day-to-day life.
Instead of sketching out the characters and their appearance on screen, the film-maker insisted that they look as real as possible even if that meant sourcing clothes from local markets or using prosthetic makeup to get the look right.
A source says, "While Nawazuddin Siddiqui had to undergo a transformation and was almost unrecognisable while shooting in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. With over four hours of hair and makeup, Sridevi sported a complete de-glam look, to let the emotions in her performance come through. Akshaye Khanna's tough character on the other hand, required a no-frills, basic look but that created a strong impact."
Ravi says, "I knew how I wanted my characters to look, because I think like an artist, which is what I originally am. It was important that each character had a well-defined real and relatable look. I wanted them to look their characters and not like stars."
