Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Review: Dirty, naked, tasteless

Krushna: Maine tujhe Shakti Kapoor samjha lekin tu toh Tusshar Kapoor nikla.
Tusshar: Haan wo mere papa hain.

Then he says something to the effect of ‘Haan, log mere papa ko bhi Shakti Kapoor hi samajhte hain.’

This is probably the best attempt at humour in a film that takes the dirty route to establishing the premise of a porn-com – which, incidentally, is what the film promoters have been calling it.

Kanhaiyya (Tusshar Kapoor) is a good-for-nothing guy who gets kicked out of his house by his business tycoon father (who else? Shakti Kapoor). Meghna Naidu (Kaliyon Ka Chaman, remember?) is Tusshar’s aunt and would-be stepmother.

Rocky (Aftab Shivdasani) is his ‘chuddy-buddy’, literally. Very soon, Kanhaiyya’s grandmother catches Rocky getting his rocks off to pornography – a development that kills her, quite literally. This prompts them to meet their Thailand-based friend Mickey (Krushna), who would rather refer to his place of residence as ‘Thai-land’. Ok, let’s not get there.

So, the two end up joining the porn business, which recreates popular Bollywood films as per their requirements. For example, Singham becomes Lingam and Kick turns into Lick, so on and so forth. But Kanhaiyya’s life turns upside down when his eyes land on Shaalu (Mandana Karimi), the daughter of Surya Karjatya (Darshan Jariwala).

But will he be able to reveal his true identity to a person whose dialogues are unusually loaded with sexual innuendos? Can a ‘sanskari’ guy get to his love via ‘pious’ routes? Will it be dirtier than Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum? Will it be really funny? Are we hypocrites? You get the drift, right?

By now, Tusshar, Aftab and Riteish have become the Khans of the sex comedy genre. Slowly and steadily, they have understood the nature and demands of their target group. That’s why they keep jumping from one scene to another without connecting them conventionally. And it’s not a bad tactic, considering that it saves the audience’s time. After all, both the parties know why they are inside the hall. To watch a porn-com, of course!

So, it doesn’t come as a complete surprise when we’re told that Tusshar turns cock-eyed each time he comes face-to-face with anything red. As I realise now, it must have been done to introduce the word cock. Or am I reading too much into it?

To be honest, this one picks pace only when it shifts to Thai-land. And most of the parody porn part is funny. Consider this: Main jagat sajni hoon, mere bar, I mean darbaar me apka har-dik swagat hai. The way Gizele Thakral says it will simply crack you up. Only if you’re not too ‘sanskari’, though.

Or, try this one from Lick (Kick’s parody): Kabhi aap Devil ke neeche, kabhi Devil aapke neeche. Too much fun!

But, that doesn’t make ‘aata majhai latakali’ any funnier. Similarly, Krushna shows off his timing in some scenes.

Tusshar: Pranam pitaji.
Krushna: Jeetu raho beta.

Why are you not laughing? What’s wrong with you?

Okay, this one will certainly bring a smile to your face: Jab tak hum kisi ke humdard nahi hote, dard humse aur hum dard se juda nahi hote (Ek Milan). Still cranky? You’re no sport.

KKHH 3 has something for you if you’re into MILFs (Mausi I like to Facebook) and organic sandwiches (you wouldn’t want to know what this is). Nimbu, santara, Ghasanti (Basanti), Fakur (Thakur), Kholay (Sholay) are just added attractions. Did I laugh on some of the jokes? Yes. Should I be ashamed of myself?

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 is not cool at all. It’s stupid, and dialogues like ‘Babuji humein nange haathon pakad lenge’ and ‘Tere grand me bahut masti hai’ only make it even more so. But it still has moments where it delivers what was promised in the trailers. Watch it if you like mouse-in-the-pants kinda jokes.
