Jolly LLB 2 is the second installment of the courtroom drama comedy Jolly LLB, which starred Arshad Warsi in the lead.
Jolly LLB 2 stars Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi, and was in the news for quite some time for its filmmakers’ decision to not have Arshad Warsi in the lead anymore, because they wanted a “bigger star”.
Well, Arshad Warsi took it well, wished only well for the movie. Are his wishes going to work? We don’t know, but here’s what we have to say about its music album:
1. Go Pagal
A holi celebration in the voices of Raftaar and Nindy Kaur, this fast-paced number is just another “party” track with nothing special. All the colours, slow-motion takes, and even Akshay Kumar’s crazy moves and Huma Qureshi’s sex appeal couldn’t help this song from being utterly boring and un-special.
2. Bawara Mann
Jubin Nautiyal and Neeti Mohan create magic in this romantic number. The lyrics are fresh and the music is beautiful. This one is easily my favourite pick of the album. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t live up to the feel of the song, and is quite a drag.
3. Jolly Good Fellow
Borrowed from a jolly good nursery rhyme – For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow – the number is sung by Shabbir Ahmed, Meet Bros and Earl Edgar. With quirky lyrics and a fun video, this track is adorable (all thanks to Akshay Kumar) but will not have much effect on the chartbusters. The story behind this song, though, is interesting! Apparently, Akki was inspired by his daughter, who was singing this song, and proposed it to the filmmakers.
4. O Re Rangreza
The last song of the album is a qawaali in Sukhwinder Singh, Murtuza Mustafa and Qadir Mustafa’s voice. It’s a song of faith and hope (almost a cry for help) and as every qawaali is, it holds a melodious appeal. However, I wouldn’t give it a second hear.
As a whole, the music album doesn’t show much scope for anything really, and could be easily forgotten.
