Mumbai, June 11 -- A debut film is perhaps the most crucial in an actor's career, and Mohit Marwah and Kiara Advani couldn't be happier to have bagged the lead roles in producer Ashvini Yardi's upcoming film, Fugly (which releases on June 13).
Ashvini says, "We, at Grazing Goat Pictures, are happy to present these talented newcomers. Mohit and Kiara have become household names even before the film has released. Fugly is not a regular romantic film, which is what most newcomers choose to debut with. Hats off to Mohit and Kiara for choosing a film that's high on content to start their Bollywood careers."
Mohit says, "I couldn't have asked for a better film. It is an unconventional debut and, as soon as I read the script, I jumped at it. This film will not only entertain, but also send out an important message to the audience... I feel happy to be part of a film like this."
Kiara, who plays a bold Delhiite in the film, says, "Not everyone gets a performance-oriented role [she plays a feminist]. The film is relevant in today's times, when we read about various crimes in the country... The story talks about how we should be the change and take responsibility." Directed by Kabir Sadanand, Fugly is the story of four friends: Dev, Devi, Gaurav and Aditya, and how they get caught in a 'fugly' incident, which sucks them into the world of corruption and politics.
