Mumbai, Oct. 9 -- Director Ravindra Gautam's upcoming film, Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami, tells the story of a son trying to get recognition for his father's work post his demise.
Produced by Nautanki Film, in association with Shikhar Films, the movie is co-presented by Jayantilal Gada (Pen). It focuses on how ordinary people contribute to society in extraordinary ways, but often go unrecognised.
Anupam Kher, who plays the protagonist, says, "It's a contemporary, political satire with wonderful songs and good performances." The film highlights a common man's triumph by delving into a father-son relationship.
Gautam says, "Watch Ekkees Toppon... to say thank you to your dad for all he has done for you; besides, celebrate the spirit of a common man."
Producer Abhinav Shukla, too, echoes the director's sentiments, saying, "As a producer, I would obviously want everyone to watch the film. But, besides the fact that I'm the producer, I connected with the story as a member of the audience, and that is why we made it. I'm proud to say it's turned out the way we envisaged it." The film also stars Neha Dhupia in a quirky role.
"It is a small film with a very large heart," Neha says, adding, "While its true essence is in the story, it also has emotion, drama, comedy and thrill. It's a movie that glorifies the common man, and makes you want to go a million miles for your father. I'm extremely proud to be a part of a movie like this."
