Akira Music Review

By Tulsi, Bollywood.com News Network

The Sonakshi Sinha starrer Akira is an action drama film directed by A.R. Murugadoss and a production of Fox Star Studios &A.R. Murugadoss. Konkana Sen Sharma and Anurag Kashyap serve as support actors in the film. The movie is all set to release on September 2nd.

1. Rajj Rajj Ke

A passionate, and quite destructive track by an angry Sonakshi Sinha who is venting out her frustrations in life with lots of head banging and screaming. The song has three versions: One sung by Sona herself, and the other two (one of them is a remix) by Nahid Afrin. The male singer is Vishal Dadlani. Which is the best version? Hands down the one sung by Sonakshi! The remix is unnecessary, like most remixes. The lyrics are not as powerful as the music, but it’s still a great first track. The video fails to impress.

2. Baadal

Another intense track, in the voice of Sunidhi Chauhan. This one tells the story of Akira, a girl who just came out of jail. It’s depressing to say the least, but also boring.

3. Purza

A completely out of place song sung by Arijith Singh. The song is a romantic track, peppy and light, unlike the first two songs of the album. However, it’s unexciting and will be easily forgotten (if remembered at all).

4. Kehkasha Tu Meri

This track in the voice of Shekhar Ravijani is based on a mystery street child (boy). The song borrows its composition from the Marathi film Balak Palak’s Haravali Pakhare, which was also composed by Vishak-Shekhar (like this one)! The most interesting song in this album.

A short (thankfully) album with two very intense songs, and two very random tracks that seem to have no connection with the film as of now. Overall, very dreary.
