NEW DELHI, Oct. 7 -- The metal heads of the city are going crazy as they wait for the debut performance of American heavy metal band Metallica in India.
The band will be performing at the F1 Rocks event in Gurgaon to kick off the Formula One Grand Prix, on October 28. With two weeks to go, the show is almost sold out and organisers say they expect to be booked to capacity despite the high ticket prices. "The cheaper tickets and more than 90% of the costlier ones are also sold out," says Karuna Prithvi of DNA networks, the organisers.
The tickets are available on the online portal, Ticketgenie.com, for R1,750 and R2,750. Over 50 bands have auditioned for a chance to open the concert for Metallica, at the Open for Metallica @ F1 Rocks, launched by Talenthouse India and MTV. "This will be the biggest night for heavy metal in India," says Ashish Chauhan, the drummer of the band, Nasya.
