Mumbai, Dec. 19 -- The Kunal Kapoor-Huma Qureshi-starrer, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, completed its first shooting schedule in a village near Ludhiana, Punjab. And unexpectedly, the entire cast and crew were given a warm farewell by the locals.
"People in the village were extremely warm and welcoming from the very first day of our shoot there," says actor Kunal. An insider from the unit reveals that although the shooting spot was almost 15 km away from Ludhiana, they always had around 25 visitors from the city to watch the shooting.
"The villagers would frequently feed us, and visitors were also welcomed," says the source. Then, the villagers somehow got a tip off that the shoot was about to finish in their village. To everyone's surprise, they organised for a huge food gala for their guests.
"They had a sumptuous menu of locals delicacies like sarso da shak, makai ki roti and kali dal. There was a special Punjabi chicken dish which they nicknamed Chicken Khurana, as Indian chicken curry is a very integral part of the film," revealed the source.
Says Kunal, who was completely moved by the reception, says, "They kept on feeding us right through the shooting schedule. It was unbelievable to our taste buds. We are going to miss this warmth." Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's first family entertainment co-produced by UTV Spotboy. This first food film of its kind is a comedy that revolves around life of a Punjabi joint family.
