Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar felicitated younger sister Asha Bhosle with the Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award at a recent function that saw all the Mangeshkar siblings come together.
Asha, known for crooning evergreen songs such as Dum Maro Dum, Mehbooba Mehbooba, Mera Kuch Saamaan, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja and Chura Liya Hai Tum Ne, among others, in her six-decade long career, performed live for three hours last weekend.
The 79-year-old evergreen singer was rewarded Rs. 100,000 and said she would donate the amount to those affected by the drought in Maharashtra. Her brother Hridaynath accompanied her in singing a few songs at the event. It was a rare sight to see all the Mangeshkar siblings together — Lata, Asha, Hridayanath, Usha and Meena.
