Mumbai, Sep 8 (IANS) Kirron Kher's real parents will make their first big screen appearance in the title montages of journalist-turned-filmmaker Pammi Somal's "Mummyji". Some of the scenes were shot in the actress' home in Chandigarh.
Was this for authenticity?
"Not really," said Pammi, "it was more for sentimental reasons. I lost my parents a few years back and I felt having Kirron's parents in the film would be like having my own parents in my first film."
When she suggested that Kirron should make tea and bring to the garden or do some dusting, her mother chuckled like a typical mother and said: "You are making her do everything that she never did in reality. Kirron never did any domestic work."
I'm not the Rolls Royce ambassador, says Amitabh
Dismissing reports that he's been signed on as the brand ambassador for Rolls Royce in India, Amitabh Bachchan says: "Nowadays people write anything."
"Whoever thought up this one deserves a prize for his imagination. One ought to have the intelligence and common sense to know that Rolls Royce is its own brand ambassador. It doesn't need endorsement," said Amitabh.
Another imaginative piece of legitimised fiction bites the dust.
Isha sheds glamorous image in 'Darling'
The deglamourised look seems to be in vogue in Bollywood. After Sushmita Sen, Isha Koppikar goes demure in "Darling".
The actress is the typical middle class Indian housewife in saris sans make-up in the film, which is incidentally directed by mentor Ram Gopal Varma.
Komal Shahani, who has designed her new look, found her to be completely in tune with what she wanted.
Komal said: "Isha was totally in her character and I found her very easy to mould. Keeping Isha's complexion in mind, I gave her colours like aubergine, scarlet red and other bright colours. Her character is soft in the movie, which is contrasted with vibrant coloured clothes. I've tried to maintain the typical housewife look but with a hint of style."
