Kangna Ranaut seems to be back in demand. The actor, who’s currently busy shooting for Karan Johar’s Unglee, now has another film in her kitty. And this time, she will be seen undergoing a complete image makeover. Kangna, we’re told, has been signed on for debutant director Vishwas
Patil’s next, Rajjo, in which she will be seen as a mujra dancer for the first time.

A source close to Kangna reveals, “In the film, she will be seen in role like never before. She will essay the role of a mujra dancer in the movie, which is an inter-religious love story.”

The source further says that the film’s plot revolves around the actor, a performer from a Muslim family, who falls madly in love with a Brahmin boy.

The source says, “The film will show the journey of the two characters falling in love and how, in spite of society not accepting their relationship, the two continue their love story and do not separate.”

And to prepare for the same role, Kangna has already begun her research. The source says, “Rekha’s portrayal in Umrao Jaan (1981) is one film whichshe has watched numerous times. She loves Rekha’s work in the film and believes that she can learn a lot from the veteran actor. She has even watched the recent remake, Umrao Jaan (2006), that starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead.”

In fact, Kangna is taking inspiration from both the actors to master the expressions and nuances of a mujra dancer. She’s training in Indian classical dance for the role.
