Kangna Ranaut: 'I'll focus my energy on those who want me'

New Delhi, May 9 -- Though Shootout At Wadala has been promoted by John Abraham and Tusshar Kapoor among other actors from the film's cast, leading lady, Kanagana Ranaut, has been missing in action.

Explaining her absence, she quips, "I wanted to promote the film, but I'm not one to go out of my way to get publicity. This isn't the first time it's happening to me. If you (producers Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta) don't want me, why should I put myself out there?"

A few months ago, Kanagana was reportedly miffed with the makers for hosting launch events for the three special numbers in the movie, focussing more on item girls Priyanka Chopra, Sunny Leone and Sophie Choudry. Ask her if this ruined her relationship with the makers, and Kanagana says: "I'm not angry. It's Ekta's decision; she knows what's good for her film... I'll focus my energy on those who want me."

Nonetheless, the actor is glad about the positive response she has got for her performance in the film. She says, "I'm happy with the result...I guess they wanted me in the film, but not for the promotions."
