Kangana to move to UP

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Dec 14 -- It's confirmed, Kangana Ranaut will move to the hinterlands of Uttar Pradesh - of course, strictly on screen - in Dedh Ishqiya. "I thought Tanu Weds Manu (2011) was the first film to explore earthy India till I saw Ishqiya (2010) that released before our movie. I was bowled over by the movie and when I was offered the sequel, it was as if I was destined to do it. When you really desire something, you usually end up getting it," smiles the actor.

Director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Vishal Bhardwaj are in talks with Madhuri Dixit who's back in India for good and looking to revive her acting career, as the other female lead in the Ishqiya sequel. Prod her on working with the diva and Kangana clams up, "I can't talk about the casting or give out too many details since we've yet to go on the floors. But I can promise you is that Part 2 will have double the fun of Part 1," she asserts.

For her "very demanding" role in Dedh Ishqiya the actor will undergo intense training. For one, she has to speak in the accented dialect of the UP interiors since her character is from that region. "I'll get myself a tutor to help me with my lines,"

Kangana shrugs. "But I'm not thinking about that now. Since the film rolls only mid-next year, I will start on the prep in March." Presently, her energy and time is focussed on Rakesh Roshan's Krrish 3 that has just flagged off. "Tanu Weds Manu 2 will start around March. It is anyone's guess what will happen with the duo this time around but I'm sure it will be as enjoyable as the first film," says a confident Kangana. "There's also Priyadarshan's action thriller Tezz that opens on January 26, 2012. So there is plenty to look forward to next year."
