MUMBAI, Oct. 4 -- The Hindi dubbed version of south director SS Rajamouli's Telugu blockbuster, Eega, is set to hit the big screen on October 12.
For Makkhi - the film's Hindi title - the makers initially roped in Ajay Devgn to lend his voice. And on Tuesday, wife Kajol also dubbed for the film at BR Studios, Juhu.
As per reports, Rajamouli had organised a special screening of the film for Ajay when the actor was in Hyderabad. "I have watched the film and I have to say that Rajamouli is one of the finest directors we have in our country today," says Ajay. Apparently, the director then approached Kajol and she too readily agreed.
While most believe her decision was led by the fact that her husband was already part of the film, the other reason could be her good relations with producer Suresh Babu. In 1999, Kajol had acted in Babu's father, Dr D Ramanaidu's production, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain.
Though Kajol remained unavailable for a comment, Devgn confirmed the news. "Yes, she has done a cameo voice-over in the film and she enjoyed it," says Devgn, whose next release, Son Of Sardaar, is also a Hindi remake of Rajamouli's Telugu blockbuster Maryada Ramanna (2010).
