Jeetendra: ‘I don’t want to face the camera’

Actor Jeetendra is known for his roles in films such as Mawaali (1983), Himmatwala (1983) and Tohfa (1984), to name a few. His signature dance moves and style statement are talked about till date. But it has been a long time since Jeetendra has been seen on the big or small screen.

Though, as the chairman of Balaji Telefilms, Balaji Motion Pictures and Alt Entertainment, the actor is involved in producing films, he is not interested in appearing in front of the camera anymore. “I have worked in the industry as an actor for a really long time. I have earned respect and feel blessed to get admiration for my work even today. But now I don’t want to face the camera anymore. I’ll concentrate on the projects that I handle as a producer and would like to support my daughter Ekta to whatever extent I can,” he says.

The veteran actor feels that he has experimented with every genre and done every kind of role that he could possibly think of.

“If one goes by my filmography, I have done several films of different genres. I don’t think there is much left that I can explore as an actor. Moreover, I don’t want to be working in studios for long hours to shoot for films,” says Jeetendra.
