New Delhi, June 18 -- Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali (above) is now scouting locations for his Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Rockstar in Delhi and plans to shoot in the north campus. The Jab We Met director narrated his days at the Hindu College to HT City, from where he graduated in English (Honours).

"I have had the best time of my life at Hindu College. I founded Iptida, the theatre society and its great to know that it's doing so well even now. My days were spent between doing productions in college and Mandi House where I was a part of Act-One theatre group. I remember the bike races and fights in the hostel - the reason for which was always someone's girlfriend visiting the hostel. It was in first year when the Mandal agitation happened. I was a part of it. We got beaten up by cops, and even ended up going to jail.

Our favourite hangout places were the gardens in college, chai waala outside Miranda House, the canteen. I also remember worshipping the hottest celeb at the virgin tree on Valentine's Day. I hardly ever attended classes, but always topped in exams. In fact my principal, PC Verma told me that I didn't have to attend classes as long as I did two thetare productions a year.

I have very fond memories of my hostel room No. 91 where I stayed with my friends Osho and Bala. When I had just moved in, it had a very notorious image. People who had stayed in that room either went missing or flunked. But I topped the college, Osho topped the university and Bala also did extremely well. T

his is where I met Arjun Rampal, who was pursuing Economics Hons. On his first day in college, he got into trouble with the seniors. He was this starry eyed fresher with so many hopes about college life, but and everyone would get hold of him and ask him, 'Hey, you a fresher?'

As part of my ragging, I was once made to walk naked to Miranda... even without an underwear. It was one big story and I even got caught by the cops.

Honestly, Delhi gave me much more than I gave it. In fact, while shooting for Love Aaj Kal in the Capital, I thought it was my payback time."
