Imran to move into family home in July

Mumbai, Jan. 13 -- Actor Imran Khan, who turns 29 today, wanted to celebrate his birthday and first wedding anniversary (January 10) in his refurbished home located at 24 Pali Hill in Bandra. But due to a significant delay in the ongoing renovation work at his family bungalow, the actor and his wife Avantika Malik have pushed their plans.

"We had actually thought that it would have been ready, and the interiors done, by the end of 2011. Now, we will be shifting in July this year, once I finish shooting for Vishal's (Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola) film," says Imran, who currently resides at a plush apartment at Hill Road.

An insider reveals that a few days ago the couple spent a night at 24 Pali Hill, just so they could get a feel of what will soon become their permanent address. Adds the insider, "Imran is completely focused on Vishal's film right now and once the film starts, he wouldn't want to divert any attention to anything else. That's why he's pushed moving till after the film's shoot is over."

The renovation work on the Bandra bungalow began in 2011, soon after he and Avantika tied the knot and officially registered their marriage. For the uninitiated, Imran has grown up at the Pali Hill bungalow. The house belongs to his late grandfather, filmmaker Nasir Hussain.

Since the Khan family is very attached to the bungalow, they didn't want to redo the entire place. Therefore, in order to retain the old-world charm and past memories, only a few select portions of the house are in the process of being renovated.
