I never ever used abusive language in my films: Tigmanshu Dhulia

Director Tigmanshu Dhulia, whose films Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Paan Singh Tomar released last year to critical and commercial success, says he’s very apprehensive of shooting lovemaking scenes in his movies.

“We are often restricted by our own selves. But let me tell you that today’s actors are more evolved. Yet even as a filmmaker we can’t blatantly show such scenes, it becomes boring after a while. I find porn films boring, but I loved erotica. But my culture always stops me from doing too many of such scenes. I never ever use abusive language. People say that it is used very openly, so why not use in films. But that’s not our culture. Even today I hide my cigarette when I see the elders of my family. Why? It is because we have been brought up that way. They know I smoke, but I hide it out of respect. Similarly, it’s the respect of my audience that stops me from doing such scenes,” says Tigmanshu.
