He is on the wishlist of top directors in Bollywood, thanks to his performance in Rockstar (2011) and Barfi (2012), but actor Ranbir Kapoor says he is not satisfied with his work so far. “There is a constant search inside me to find my characters, find the right emotions and do my job
honestly and truly. I am not even 2% happy with what I have done so far. This thought of ‘Miles to go before I sleep’ stays with me,” said Ranbir, quoting Robert Frost’s poem.
Kapoor, 30, has been shooting back-to-back films and shares a special bond with his directors, including Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Basu and Ayaan Mukherjee. Basu, who is re-teaming with the actor for his biopic on Kishore Kumar, calls Kapoor “very special”. When asked about his friendship with all these directors, Ranbir said, “I feel lucky that these people have become my friends because I am learning from them. I am getting to play these characters. The greatest joy for me is not winning an award but a director repeating me. It is a humbling experience.”
