With acclaimed films like Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai (2010) and The Dirty Picture (2011) to his credit, Emraan Hashmi has definitely emerged as one of the most sought-after actors in the industry. And for his next, UTV Motion Pictures’ Ghanchakkar opposite Vidya Balan, the actor has undergone a
complete makeover and is now flaunting a well-chiseled body and six-pack abs.

“This is a very distinct look, unlike anything I’ve gone for in the past. For instance, I flaunt a ponytail for a large part of the film, which was a decision we took after several rounds of trial and error,” says the actor.

Ask Emraan about his the new well-built look, and he admits that it wasn’t easy to achieve. He says, “I’ve been working out for the last three years. Raj (Raj Kumar Gupta, director) was clear that he wanted me to have an athletic physique but nothing beefy. He was also concerned about the rapid fluctuation in my weight.” However, eventually, things turned out to be fine and the actor tells us that the few people who’ve seen his look have given him a fantastic response.

Talking about the film, Emraan feels that the humour in the film is unlike what one sees in Bollywood films usually. He says, “In our industry, the idea of mainstream comedy is something I call ‘school humour’. Ghanchakkar surpasses it all. It’s definitely very funny.”
