Vidya Balan has been living out of a suitcase for a while now, thanks to the endorsements she’s taken on. And in an upcoming ad for a biscuit brand, the actor has a double role that sees her reliving her Parineeta (2005) and The Dirty Picture (2011) characters in a single frame.

“We wanted to bring two different characters to life in one frame because that’s the ideology of the product I’m endorsing. There’s a Silk and a Parineeta in me. I believe a woman plays different roles all the time. So it all fell into place smoothly and I revisited two of my most diverse characters in one go,” says Vidya.

The actor, who made her debut with Hum Paanch on Zee TV, has been around for close to a decade. However, she has never played a double role. “I’ve always wanted to do a double role. I completely loved Sridevi and Hemaji (Hema Malini) in ChalBaaz (1989) and Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), but we don’t seem to have such concepts in films anymore,” says Vidya.

The National Award winner, who will be seen endorsing Aliva biscuits soon, is also set to begin schedules of Ghanchakkar and Shaadi Ke Side Effects shortly. “The shooting for Ghanchakkar hasn’t begun, but I’m excited about it. I’ll get to do a comedy after a long time,” says Vidya, adding, “Most comedy films don’t give the heroine the fun parts. But I’ll get to do some real comedy in Ghanchakkar. I share a great work equation with director Rajkumar Gupta and Emraan (Hashmi). It should be fun!”
