Mumbai, Dec. 1 -- He plays the part of the energetic character, Hunter, in Desi Boyz. But in real life, actor John Abraham is down with viral fever. So much so, that even as the star cast of Rohit Dhawan's film is going about enjoying its success, he has been keeping a low profile at his Bandra home for a few days now.
"Yes, John has not been able to enjoy the success of Desi Boyz because he is down with fever. Although others from the film have been giving media interviews and attending success events, John has been too unwell to go anywhere. He has requested the makers to excuse him," says a member of John's entourage.
In fact, the actor also hasn't been able to go for the special screening of the film that was organised for his friends and family. "He was keen on attending it to see how his near and dear ones would react to his performance, but he simply couldn't move out of his place. Though he is feeling better now," adds the team member.
John's ill health has even affected the shooting schedule for his other films. The Force actor was supposed to leave for Krabi in Thailand on Wednesday to shoot for Sajid Khan's upcoming multi-starrer, Houseful 2. However, all these plans have been postponed by a day.
Apparently, Sajid and other actors have been informed about John's condition and since they were concerned about his health, they made sure all the arrangements to push the shoot were made well in time.
When contacted, John seemed glad to hear that Desi Boyz is been doing well at the box office. "I'm happy that it's doing well and that audiences are appreciating it. But surely, I'm a little disappointed that I can't enjoy it (the film's success) the way I would like to since I'm unwell," says the actor, who was seen in the film along with Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar and Chitrangda Singh. Besides Housefull 2, John has already started work on Abbas-Mustan's upcoming biggie Race 2. He is also very excited about his 'slice of life' film I Me Aur Main along with Chitrangda again.
