Till some time back, Chitrangda Singh made news about playing a sexy female mutant in Rakesh Roshan’s upcoming, Krrish 2. But then, Chitrangda was replaced by Sri Lankan beauty queen-turned-actor Jacqueline Fernandez after some “date issues”. Later, Hrithik stated that Jackie “had been on my mind” and that “she’s a beautiful girl with loads of talent”.
Although Chitrangda is no longer a part of the Krrish sequel, she insists everything is fine between her and Hrithik, and that they are good friends. Reports have stated that Chitrangda, who was supposed to play the negative character in the film, wasn’t too happy with the length of her role. That’s why she opted out of the film.
But Chitrangda refutes it all saying Hrithik “is a brilliant performer.” The Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi actor adds with a smile: “In the industry, I think Hrithik is the real all-rounder. And if you ask me as an actor, he makes for a great superhero as Krrish. He has the physicality and attitude to carry off the superhero image.”
At the same time, Chitrangda calls her opting out of Krrish 2 “upsetting.” She adds: “But there was a genuine date issue.” Initially, the Roshans were planning to start in August but rescheduled the shoot to October-November. “Now, it’s likely to spill into March-April. I have other commitments. So, I had no option but to opt out,” she says.
Chitrangda also explains that since “Rakeshji has hired a foreign crew that includes action experts and VFX professionals. It’s bound to take time.” Right now, Chitrangda is busy with Sudhir Mishra’s Inkaar. Then, she is excited about Mishra’s another venture Mehrunnisa.
