How could I let a chance to work with Aamir go: Vivan Bathena

By Hindustan Times

Vivan Bathena has his plate full — he has been hosting TV shows, walking the ramp for designers and working in feature and ad films. But he still feels he has more to give to the industry. And he is most excited about being part of Aamir Khan’s Talaash.

“I play a superstar in the film, but I am not allowed to talk about it yet. It’s my second film with Excel Entertainment, after 2010’s Karthik Calling Karthik. I knew my role was small, but it was a chance to work with Aamir Khan, so how could I let it go? Most of my scenes were shot in Puducherry, so I got to travel there and experience a new place. It was interesting as I got to work with different people. The film’s director, Reema Kagti, is absolutely chilled out and easygoing on the sets.”

Vivan got a chance not only to work with Aamir, but also work out with him. “I and some others from the unit, worked out with
him and his trainer Deepesh. Aamir was doing his swimming coaching at that time and he has a lot of stamina for his age, which I told him was admirable. Even we were struggling to keep up with him. He underwent intense swimming lessons, followed by a workout and shooting. Deepesh teaches cross fit, which is so intense that you can’t do it for even 15 minutes at a stretch. But Aamir did it.”

Talking about his career, Vivan says, “I have been doing everything, including theatre. I am doing two plays right now — Divya Palat’s Verdict and another untitled one. Verdict should be out next year. It has an interesting cast and is a jury-based drama. I am also shooting for fashion designers and making short films. That’s another avenue opening up for me. I have a multi-faceted personality and like to explore different options as I get bored of doing one thing repeatedly.”
