When Sajid Khan was working on the script of Housefull 2, he conceived a comic sequence that had his four lead actors, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh and Rahul Khanna floating in air.

“It is not the climax but is significant to the plot. Usually, we have actors swinging from cables that are digitally removed later. But in this case, I wanted them to cross each other and that’s not possible with wires because they would get entangled,” reasons the director.

Then he recalled watching the documentary, Earth To The Mooon, which showed astronauts enter NASA’s Weightlessness Programme for a trial run before take-off. “They enter a chamber and immediately start floating in air, the way they would in zero-gravity in outer space,” he says.

HousefullThe idea of shooting in this part of NASA, out-of-bounds to visitors, was ludicrous. Only two films, Armageddon and Apollo 13, have been shot there earlier. But with producer Sajid Nadiadwala at the helm, the director insists that nothing is impossible. “Sajid (Nadiadwala) got Sylvester Stallone to make an appearance in Kambakkht Ishq (2009). I know he will get permission from NASA too,” says Khan, who is confident of entering the chamber between July and September with his crew for a two-day shoot and floating away.
