Honey Singh to croon for Ranbir's next!

By Hindustan Times

MUMBAI, March 4 -- Rapper Honey Singh will soon sing a song for Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film, Besharam, which is being directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap.

The Punjabi singer, who has been embroiled in quite a few controversies regarding the objectionable lyrics of his tracks, is now working towards creating a strong foothold in Bollywood. Apart from composing a song for the upcoming film, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, his last hit was the number 'Angrezi beat' from Homi Adajania's Cocktail (2012).

An industry insider reveals that the makers have given Honey the freedom to add his own flavour to the track. "He has been brought on board because his songs work well with the youth. His casual style is popular among young listeners and since the film also targets that audience, this association works in everyone's favour," says the insider from the film unit.

Despite repeated attempts, Abhinav remained unavailable for a comment. However, his publicist confirms the news, saying, "Honey Singh will be singing for Besharam; he has done some really good work in the past and with him on board, the soundtrack of the film is going to be quite interesting."

Ranbir, who is currently shooting for the film, will be seen opposite Pallavi Sharda. Incidentally, this will also be the first time that the actor will be seen in a movie along with his actor-parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, both of whom play pivotal roles.
