Priyanka & Irrfan to lend their voices for Jungle Book!

By Tulsi, News Network

PC and Irrfan are already swimming in the international waters, and it’s no wonder that they are the first choice for Hollywood film Jungle Book’s Hindi version (of course there needs to be a Hindi version)!!

While Priyanka will be the seductive voice of Kaa, the python (done by Scarlett Johansson in the original version), Irrfan Khan will be lending his friendly voice to Baloo, the bear.

Irrfan, who will start dubbing from this week, is very kicked about this, and says:

“The global franchise gives me a great opportunity to be a part of children’s film which I have been wanting for a long time. And yes, I couldn’t be happier to dub for Baloo, and more than me my younger one’s grin for Baloo made it worth while. Jungle Book’ travels back to childhood knocking doors of memories when one had talking animal friends in imagination, jungle book is old and still relatable, talking about the eternal attraction bond and conflict between man and jungledom.”

So, who will be dubbing for the other characters?

Well, more Bollywood actors! The studio has approached Nana Patekar, Om Puri and Shefali Shah too for the other main characters of the movie…

Shefali Shah will voice Raksha, the wolf and mother to Mowgli. Om Puri will be the voice of Bagheera, the Black Panther. And Nana Patekar will dub for the villain Shere Khan, the tiger!

What an amazing choice!!! Don’t you think?

By the way, did you know that Nana Patekar had lent his voice for the animated series “Jungle Book: The Adventures of Mowgli” that was aired on Doordarshan back in the 90s?

Anyway, the Hollywood film is a new version of Walt Desney’s 1967 animation film. The lead, Mowgli, will be played by Indian-American actor Neel Sethi!

Says Amritya Pandey, VP – Studios, Disney India: “We are so excited to have such veterans and A list actors come together to voice and bring alive these beloved characters making it like a hi scale Hindi film.”

Also, the movie will release on April 8, a week before US release…

Woohoo! HOW COOL!
