Mumbai, March 26 -- Jackie Chan is one of the first few names that come to mind when you think of action stars. Now, the veteran actor is planning to cash in on his popularity in India. "He is planning to bring his latest film, Dragon Blade, here, and wants to co-produce a remake with some Bollywood actors," says a source close to him.
The film released in several countries last month, and has done good business in China as well as a few other markets. "Jackie is already in talks with the film's Indian distributors to come on board as the co-producers of this remake," adds the source.
When contacted, Manish Dutt, the Indian distributor of the film, says, "The story of the film dwells on maintaining peace between the Silk Route of India and China. It is the perfect fit for an appealing Bollywood movie. Also, the two countries have signed an audiovisual film-making treaty, which aims to encourage coproductions. We would love to remake the film with Jackie and our Bollywood actors."
Dutt adds that the actor is excited about the idea of an Indian remake. "Jackie is waiting for the film to release in India to gauge how well the audience here accepts it, before announcing the remake," he says.
