Coldplay to perform in India next year?

Mumbai, July 3 -- Patrons at a restaurant in Delhi were in for a surprise on June 29, when hit band Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin, took to the stage.

The singer was apparently dining with Indian musicians Vishal Dadlani and Raghu Dixit, actor Freida Pinto, and some members of the comic group, All India Bak***d, when he decided to do an impromptu gig.

"When we were having our dinner, Chris said, 'Let's go play somewhere.' So we did," says Vishal.

Apparently, Chris borrowed Raghu's guitar for the performance, and crooned many of his hit numbers including 'Fix you', 'Paradise' and 'Viva la vida'.

Chris and Freida are part of the delegation that is associated with an NGO that is working towards the reduction of poverty.

Apparently, Chris is in the process of sorting out permissions for a concert for his band in India next year.
