The big banner Hollywood sequels in 2015!


New Delhi, Dec. 27 -- The year 2014 was an action-packed one that saw enthralling sequels and reboots of quite a few big Hollywood blockbusters.

Sample this: The Amazing Spiderman 2, Transformers: Extinction, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, 300: Rise of an Empire, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 22 Jump Street, RoboCop and Godzilla, among many others. And movie buffs can't wait for 2015, as the new year, too, is going to be a thrilling one.

The calendar for next year is already becoming crammed with sequels, reboots, and film adaptations. Here are some long-awaited sequels of big film franchises that are all set to woo audiences once again.


The final film appearance of late Hollywood actor Paul Walker (left), this action film will be the seventh and the final installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. The movie, directed by James Wan, will also star biggies like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. The movie is the first in the series to continue the storyline of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).


Directed by Alan Taylor, this upcoming sequel will be the fifth installment in the Terminator series. With a star cast that includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke, this film is rumoured to reset the series. And thanks to its time travel concept, it will act as a sequel, prequel, as well as a reboot. The plot is set in the year 2029, where John Connor, leader of the Resistance, continues the war against the machines. After being notified by his army unit about Skynet planning to attack him from two fronts, past and future, Connor sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back through time to save his mother's life and ensure his own existence.


Directed by filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, it is an American action spy film. The fifth installment in the Mission Impossible series, it is yet to get an official name, and will star Hollywood actor Tom Cruise (above), who reprises his role of super agent Ethan Hunt. Actors Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames will also feature in this muchawaited sequel.


The fourth installment in the Jurassic Park series, this upcoming sci-fi flick is finally set to hit the theaters after a wait for 10 long years. Safety Not Guaranteed director, Colin Trevorrow, will helm this sequel starring American actors Chris Pratt (left), Bryce Dallas Howard and also, Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan. The plot revolves around a fully- functional dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, which after 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, creates a new attraction to re-spark visitors' interest, which backfires horribly.


The 24th James Bond film, Spectre, will be the second film directed by Sam Mendes in the series. Starring English actor Daniel Craig in his fourth performance as the British secret agent, the film also features biggies like Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, and Ben Wishaw. The plot revolves around a cryptic message from an unlikely source that sets James Bond navigating the layers of a sinister organisation known as Spectre. It draws Bond closer to uncovering a hidden truth that threatens to destroy everything he has fought to protect.
