'Hijack' will work, says Kunal Shivdasani
| Mumbai, July 31 (IANS) Although Apoorva Lakhia's film on terrorism "Mission Istanbul" failed to set the box office registers on fire, Kunal Shivdasani is confident about his directorial debut "Hijack" that also deals with the same subject. "It is a film on terrorism, but the story deals with the emotional attachment between a father and a daughter. That's made it different from other films on the same issue," Shivdasani, told IANS. After making over 300 ad films, Shivdasani has ventured into filmmaking with "Hijack". He has teamed up with Shiney Ahuja, Esha Deol and debutant Kaveri Jha in the movie, which is releasing Aug 29. Echoing the director's view, Shiney said: "The film is completely different from other films on terrorism. It is the story of struggle of a father to save his child. I am very happy to play an action hero as that will surprise the audience," said Shiney. "As an actor, I don't want to stick to a particular type of genre. I want to surprise the audience with my films and I think 'Hijack' will do that." Shiney was speaking on the sidelines of the music launch of “Hijack”. While Esha plays an airhostess who helps Shiney in rescuing his child, Kaveri features as his wife in the film. The music for the film has been scored by debutants Justin-Uday who have been working with Shivdasani for more than a decade. "We know Shivdasani from quite a long time. We worked on several ads together," Justin said. "Music for ads and feature films are two different things. But we still enjoyed the experience," added Uday. The duo said their favourite track is "Aksar" |
