Prakash Jha is known to be a perfectionist. And when it comes to his films, he’s very particular about what he wants. Now, we’ve been informed that for his next film, Satyagraha, the filmmaker has rented out a ground located in the heart of Bhopal, and constructed a lavish set on the premises.
A source close to the production house says, “Jha has constructed a massive set in the heart of Bhopal. He has rented a four acre area called the Benazir Ground for about six months now. The production, set designing and decoration teams have worked relentlessly to create an entire mohalla (locality) there. It’s a huge set and has got everything from a school to a marketplace and even a movie theatre on it.”
The lavish set is probably one of biggest sets built for a Bollywood film. When contacted, Jha confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we have used the massive ground for six months for the shooting of Satyagraha. It was a monumental task which my team has wonderfully performed to create a never-before-seen set.”
In total, Jha will have possession of the ground for eight months — six months for the construction and two months for the shooting. So how much has Jha doled out for the set? The source reveals, “Jha has been paying about Rs. 20,000 as rent every month.” Satyagraha, has actors Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor playing the lead roles.
